Each day is an opportunity to achieve more. So, I chose to write about how you can achieve more by being confident. Let’s jump right in and learn how to be confident: top tips to boosting your confidence.
Understanding who you are and what you truly want is important to build confidence. You want to set yourself up for growth by taking chances. Calculated risks are a key to success and build you up to seek better for yourself. In order to grow to a higher level of self-awareness, you need to decide what you want. Meditate and express your deepest desires. Then set goals and make a plan to achieve them effectively. By expressing what you want you to start a journey to actually accomplish them. Express yourself then make a plan to work towards it. This, in turn, gives you confidence in what you are doing because your ‘why’ or desires are based on YOU!
Forgive, Learn from them and Move on
Mistakes are inevitable and we must learn how to deal with them. I make mistakes daily and no matter how big or small they are I am my own worst critic. You have to allow yourself room to grow and develop. Risks and mistakes are inevitable so forgive yourself, learn from them and move on! Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, even if it is small. Holding on to mistakes hinders your ability to be confident and believe in yourself.
Positivity and Daily Affirmations
Reform your mindset by living in daily positivity. Speak good things into your life and others’. Work to see the best in yourself and others without fear or judgment. We are not perfect so we should accept our flaws and seek the things we are good at. Our talents are what we should focus on development. Learning to accept those differences and daily life changes is key. Giving yourself the gift of positivity will present more good than negative options. everyone should seek to have a good day and to spread that to the others in their life. Life does not always give us a positive start but we can work daily to remember that we can make it better if we try. Focusing on your goals and owning your purpose will make you more confident in your abilities.
Believe in yourself
Know your worth and your capabilities. Take a sheet of paper and list your talents and hobbies. Ask your family and friends as well. Read this list and accept those gifts! Remind yourself daily what you can do and believe in your abilities. By knowing what we are good at will build confidence and encourage belief in our abilities. No one should believe in your abilities more than you because it benefits you the most. Remember your main goal and what lies at the end to motivate you.
Follow your dreams and passions
Dream big and work hard for what you desire. If you are working towards something you are passionate about you will fight harder. Despite your fears and negative thoughts, you will focus on the end goal because it benefits you and then others. Confidence, to me, is believing your a capable of something. I know I enjoy writing and helping others, so, I became a blogger to use those talents. Discover what you are good at and make it your focus. If you could do or have anything what would you do to work towards that dream? Don’t fret over how big or small your dream may be. Use it as your foundation and grow it to the status you desire. No one can stop your dreams unless you allow them to.
Fake it until you make it, believe it until you achieve it
Start by trying things you are not totally used to. Step out of your norm and stretch your comfort zone. Be open to other options and opinions. I learned through my anxiety that if I allow myself to stay in my sadness then that’s where I’d stay. So, I surrounded myself with things, opportunities, and people that made me happy. Even if I didn’t feel 100% happy I pretended to be so my day would flow better. Eventually, I got to a point where I didn’t have to fake it and I achieved what I wanted. Try this with all aspects of your life. If you do not have the ability to accomplish a goal find other ways to do it or learn new abilities. You are the key to your success! Go after the things you desire to fulfill your dreams and passions.
Exercise and self-care
Your physical and mental health is important to know who you are. It will stretch your belief and make you more confident in your abilities. I learned the hard way that taking care of myself is important before I can care for others. My dream was to help others and I worked hard in my career to do that but I drained myself in the process. begin by setting time aside for rest and meditation. Take time to care for yourself every day! No one can care for you better than yourself. This will help you internally and show externally. Exercise, sleep and knowing yourself and your desires are key to building confidence.
Your quirks are important. Weird is better than normal!
I enjoy being myself and standing out. But, many people do not, especially when they are uncomfortable. Being unique is important to feel comfortable with who you are. Knowing what you what and what you are capable of is important to having confidence. Growing into who you want to be and loving that person shows in your body language. For example, I chose to go natural with my hair. Although it was tough at first I have now embraced it and love my coily locs!! I know some people who do not like my look but I do not care what they think. I Love me and my differences. This acceptance of yourself builds confidence even when others are negative.
Smile and have good posture
The vibe or aura you give off can give a sense of assurance. Smile even during the dark times and focus on the positive. Allow yourself to grieve in private but don’t stay down for too long. Pity Parties are no fun! I am a Grey’s Anatomy fan and I love when Meredith would dance out her problems. I encourage you to find ways to pull yourself up and stand tall. As a child, my mom put us through cotillions…Yes, I was a debutante. I take a lot of what I learned into my everyday life. I hold good posture in public and smile. To me, this shows confidence no matter what.
Maintain eye contact
By giving people eye contact when you speak to them you exude confidence. Eye contact ensures that you are interested and listening. I learned how to smile with my eyes to ensure that people felt I was being genuine. Smiling can also make people feel more comfortable around you. It makes you more approachable and friendly. You want to encourage good things in your life and a day started with a real smile is a good one. Try to laugh at least one really good time a day. This will make things seem a little less negative and bring out the best in yourself as well.
The point in being confident is to make yourself more aware that you are awesome! Remind yourself every day of the positive things and your talents. This will motivate you to do more to achieve your goals and plan a wonderful future. You can not get to the future if you don’t start working towards it. Nothing in life will be handed to you and it can hinder your happiness. Accepting who you and a living in your truth is key to living life according to your dreams!
